Procedural Dermatology Treatments in Anchorage

Expert Surgical Care

At Mat-Su Dermatology, we understand that the diagnosis of skin cancer can be overwhelming, but we’re here to guide you through your treatment options with expert care and compassion. Our surgical dermatology services focus on providing the most effective, precise, and minimally invasive treatments for skin cancer, including Mohs micrographic surgery, one of the most advanced techniques for skin cancer removal.

Skin Cancer Interventions

When skin cancer is diagnosed, surgery is often required to remove the cancerous cells and prevent further spread. At Mat-Su Dermatology, our team of board-certified dermatologists specializes in skin cancer surgery, ensuring that you receive the highest standard of care with the goal of preserving as much healthy skin as possible.
We offer a variety of surgical options for skin cancer treatment, including:

Excisional Surgery:
Removing the cancerous tissue along with a small margin of healthy tissue to ensure all cancer cells are eliminated.

Curettage and Electrodesiccation:
A procedure that scrapes away the cancerous tissue and uses electrical currents to destroy remaining cancer cells, often used for superficial skin cancers.

Advanced Procedures for Effective Skin Care

Certain dermatologic conditions and skin growths require technical procedural treatments for optimal long-term disease control or resolution. At Mat-Su Dermatology we are proud to offer over 17 years of combined experience in performing a variety of these procedures. With their combined experience, Drs. Sorensen and Willardson are confident in engaging in shared decision-making with their patients when it comes to considering and delivering these treatments in a personalized, thoughtful, and expert manner. Some of these treatments include:
